In Wuyi, Zhejiang Province, studios have drawn young customers during summer vacation, with parents also bringing children to try the craft.    Patchwork has a long history in China, as similar practices were recorded in The Rites of Zhou, a classic text on the Zhou Dynasty (1046-256 BC). Over centuries, the craft has reflected traditional values of cherishing resources and craftsmanship.    Bu Xiting, a researcher at Communication University of China, said patchwork helps people relax amid fastpaced urban life and reflects growing environmental awareness by reusing old clothes.
